May 13, 2022

The South Burnett’s annual Relay For Life fundraising campaign for Cancer Council Queensland will kick off next month with a special breakfast at the Kingaroy RSL Club.

The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) will be hosting the community charity breakfast from 6:30am on June 3.

Guest speakers will be a panel of community survivors who will share their stories … tales which will resonate with anyone who has been touched in any way by cancer.

The 2022 “Face Of Relay” will also be sashed.

“We are thrilled the KCCI reached out to us to offer support and help us with the organising and planning of the charity breakfast,” Relay For Life patron Carl Rackemann said.

“We will have some additional exciting news to share with the community.

“This includes naming the Face of Relay for 2022, a Ride for Relay update, a new inaugural ‘Cricket for Life’ event in the South Burnett with special guests, and an update on the planning for this year’s ‘Dinner with the Captains’.”

South Burnett Relay for Life committee chair Rowena Dionysius said she was excited the breakfast launch could now go ahead.

The group’s fundraising goal for 2022 is an amazing $114,000.

Every dollar raised goes towards funding Cancer Council Queensland’s vital research, prevention and support programs, many of which help people in the South Burnett every day.

Tickets for the breakfast fundraiser are $35 per person, which includes a hot breakfast with tea/coffee/juice. Limited seats are available.
