Entries in the Murgon Cherbourg Youth Hub’s art competition close on May 20.
Young people from across the region are invited to showcase their talents and unique points of view through art.
The theme is “Art Connects Us” and the art could be a sketch, painting or photograph.
Artworks will be displayed at the Youth Hub at Murgon State High School throughout the rest of the year.
The competition is open to anyone aged 10-18 from Murgon, Cherbourg and the South Burnett.
There will be four prizes: a winner and a highly commended for each age group: 10-14 years and 15-18 years.
First prize is a $100 gift card (Struddys Sports Murgon and Murgon Betta Electrical) and highly commended, a $50 gift card.
Artworks must be delivered to the Youth Hub in Gore Street, Murgon by May 20 and be clearly labelled with the name, age and contact details of the entrant.
They must not exceed 105cm in width.
The winners will be decided by artists from the Cherbourg Ration Shed Museum and Wondai Art Gallery and will be announced at the Youth Hub Services Expo on May 27.
The competition is being supported by Ration Shed Museum artists, the Wondai Art Gallery and South Burnett Regional Council.
Artworks will be retained at the discretion of the Youth Hub for display during 2022.
