The ballot draw for the upcoming Federal Election was conducted on Friday following the close of nominations.
There are 24 candidates running for office across the three Federal Electorates which dissect the South Burnett region.
In Flynn – which includes Boondooma, Durong South, Hivesville, Proston, Tingoora and Wondai – there are seven candidates.
Colin Boyce, the LNP selection following the retirement of sitting MP Ken O’Dowd, has drawn the last spot on the ballot.
His key opponent, the ALP’s Matt Burnett, has drawn the coveted number 1 position.
In Maranoa – which includes Benarkin, Blackbutt, Gordonbrook, Kingaroy, Kumbia, Memerambi, Nanango, Wooroolin and Yarraman – sitting member David Littleproud (LNP) is in the top position.
The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party, more familiar to NSW voters, are also running a candidate in Maranoa.
In Wide Bay – which includes Byee, Cherbourg, Goomeri, Kilkivan, Moffatdale, Murgon, Tansey, Widgee and Woolooga – sitting member Llew O’Brien (LNP) is in the middle of a field of 10 candidates.
The top spot in Wide Bay has been drawn by an Independent, Kelli Jacobi.
The LNP, ALP, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, the Queensland Greens and Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party are running candidates in all three electorates.
As well, Independents have nominated in Flynn and Wide Bay but not in Maranoa.
The election will be held on May 21.
