Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival Inc – the organisers of the Blackbutt Avocado Festival – have received $15,000 in State Government funding to develop a strategic business and succession plan for the organisation.

The association were successful under Round 20 of the Queensland Destination Events Program (QDEP).

“We are thrilled to receive the support of Tourism and Events Queensland through the Queensland Destination Events Program,” association president Jeff Connor said.

“This is an important step for our organisation to future-proof the delivery of the annual Blackbutt Avocado Festival into the future, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organisation and the activities we deliver for the Blackbutt community is a key priority for our committee in 2022.”

The association will work with Tourism and Events Queensland to appoint an appropriate consultant to assist the organisation with the development of the plan, which is expected to be completed by November.

The Blackbutt Avocado Festival is also supported by the State Government by being featured on the “It’s Live! in Queensland” events calendar by Tourism and Events Queensland.
