The SBLX Fat and Store Sale in Murgon on Tuesday (April 5) drew a yarding of 800.

In line with all other selling centres over the past week, values for all descriptions eased on the previous sale.

Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Biggenden, Mt Perry, Kingaroy, Nanango, Kilkivan and the Murgon district.

Sale results:

  • Heavy Bulls sold to $3.42/kg and $2619
  • Bullocks topped at $4.28/kg and $2685
  • Cows over 500kg topped at $3.68/kg and $2048
  • Cows 400-500kg sold to $3.37/kg for $1635
  • Cows under 400kg were in insufficient numbers to quote
  • Export heifers sold to $3.88/kg and $2154
  • 520kg Angus cross steers sold to $5.14/kg for $2633
  • Red Brangus steers from Kandanga sold for $2556 at $5.06/kg
  • 417kg Droughtmaster cross steers sold at $5.06/kg and $2111
  • A line of Droughtmaster cross steers from Johnstown sold to a top of 6.36c/kg, averaging $1877
  • Charolais cross weaner steers from Tansey sold for $7.00/kg and $1966
  • Droughtmaster cross weaner steers ex Mundubbera sold to $1782 at $6.60/kg
  • Light Charolais steers sold to $7.28/kg and $1304
  • Local 350kg Santa cross heifers sold to $5.70/kg and $2009
  • Local Simmental cross heifers sold to $5.20/kg for $1690 at 325kg
  • Charolais cross weaner heifers from Tansey sold for $1467 at $6.52/kg
  • Charbray cross weaner heifers from Cloyna sold for $5.94/kg, returning $1600
  • A small number of Cows & Calves were yarded, selling to $3050

The next Murgon sale will be on Tuesday, April 19, at 8:00am.
