A truck driver was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after his B-Double left the Burnett Highway and rolled north of Nanango on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to incident, near the intersection with Rickett Road at Johnstown, about 11:35pm.

QAS paramedics and an aeromedical team from the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter treated the man at the scene.

A QAS spokesperson said the driver, a man aged in his 30s, was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition with a significant pelvic injury.

The highway was closed to traffic to allow the chopper to land nearby.

Earlier in the evening, a LifeFlight helicopter was despatched to the Hivesville area after a single-vehicle rollover on the Wondai-Proston Road at Kawl Kawl.

Emergency services were called about 7:35pm.

QAS paramedics assessed a woman aged in her 20s at the scene before transporting her by ambulance to a nearby sports field where she was met by the Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service helicopter.

She was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition with head and abdominal injuries.
