Goomeri police are reminding motorists that “no entry” signs are put on flooded roads for a very important reason.
Between February 25-28, Goomeri police detected 14 drivers disobeying signs on Moore Street, Goomeri; and the Burnett Highway at Tansey and Goomeri.
Drivers who disobey the signs will incur a $192 fine and a loss of three demerit points.

Police allege a 21-year-old Walkervale man was detected travelling at 134km/h in an 100km/h zone on the Burnett Highway, Booubyjan.
He was fined $643 and lost six demerit points.
Between February 20 and March 17, five drivers were detected exceeding the speed limit by at least 13km/h but not more than 20km/h, which incurs a fine of $275 and a loss of three demerit points.
A further four drivers were detected exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h but not more than 30km/h which incurs a fine of $459 and a loss of four demerit points.
Motorists were pulled over and fined at Booubyjan, Manyung, Kinbombi, Tansey, Redgate and Goomeri.
