A truck driver suffered head injuries – and more than 100 pigs died – when a B-Double rolled on the Bunya Highway on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the incident, at Baroona (north of Bell), about 2:15pm.
A police spokesperson said the prime mover was pulling two trailers loaded with 280 pigs when it lost a wheel off the left side of the highway.
The vehicle went out of control and rolled on to its left side.
The police spokesperson said 120 pigs died.
The driver, a man aged in his 20s, was initially trapped in the cabin.
A QAS spokesperson said he suffered significant head and facial injuries.
He was transported by ambulance to Dalby Hospital in a stable condition and then airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
The truck had been heading northwards towards Kingaroy.
