South Burnett Regional Council is urging landowners to take advantage of the range of equipment available to assist in their weed control efforts.

“With the exceptional season we have experienced across the South Burnett region, weeds are growing and potentially spreading faster than ever,” Cr Scott Henschen said.

“Council has a wide range of equipment available to support landowners in their weed control programs.”

Equipment available included Quik Spray trailers, splatter guns and tree spears.

“Council can help you access the equipment you require to help you implement effective weed control measures on your property,” Cr Henschen said.

“We also provide advice on how to use and treat the weeds on your property using the equipment loaned from Council. Council Officers are available to provide the latest advice and recommendations to help meet your obligations for the management of weeds on your property.”

For more information and to book equipment, contact Council on (07) 4189-9100.

The recent rain has also led to an explosion of overgrown allotments across the South Burnett, with landowners warned to take action or face heavy costs.

The number of allotments requiring Council’s attention has prompted the release of tender documents seeking mowing contractors.

Council is seeking submissions from suitably experienced and equipped contractors to enter into 12-month contracts to assist with the maintenance of overgrown allotments.
