Detectives investigating the murder of 61-year-old Krishna Chopra at Crows Nest last month are seeking public help to identify a metal bar located during a ground search near her home in Park Road.
Police are hoping to determine what the metal bar might be used for, and if anyone recognises owning or using a similar bar.
The original size of the bar has been shortened to 47cm, which may suggest it has been modified for a particular purpose.
Police cannot confirm at this stage whether the bar is connected to the death of Ms Chopra however they are looking to establish its origins as part of the ongoing investigation.
Detectives have asked for anyone who may have had an association with Ms Chopra – and who have not already spoken to police – or visited her house at 5 Park Road to come forward.
Police also are asking anyone who was in the Park Road area on January 21-22 to come forward and discuss their observations and movements with police.
Ms Chopra’s body was found in her home just before 2:00pm on January 31.
That is a torsion bar from the front suspension of a four wheel drive, probably a Holden Rodeo.
Thank you, Phil. We have passed this information on to Crows Nest police.
