A Murgon mother charged with manslaughter after her seven-month-old daughter drowned in a makeshift bath last year has been committed to stand trial.

Lavinia Alison Murray, who was 21 at the time of the incident, appeared in Murgon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to a Murgon home on February 5, 2021.

Police alleged Murray had left the baby alone in a laundry sink for several periods while she tended to her other children and spent time on Facebook.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair committed Murray to stand trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court at a date to be fixed.
