South Burnett Regional Council’s 2022 Australia Day Awards will be held at Blackbutt Showgrounds on Sunday, January 23.
The ceremony will be held from noon to 2:00pm with Nanango businessman and former Shire councillor Rod Morgan as the master of ceremonies.
Following the awards ceremony, there will be live entertainment from the Taromeo Country Music Club and a sausage sizzle open to the public from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
Mayor Brett Otto congratulated all the nominees and acknowledged their commitment to the community.
“Anyone nominated for an Australia Day Award has showcased their true community spirit for the South Burnett,” the Mayor said.
“We have faced many adversities this past year but the South Burnett is resilient. It is people like these nominated that represent what our region truly stands for.”
