South Burnett Regional Council has hired contractors to begin upgrading the bathrooms at the South Burnett Aquatic Centre in Nanango.
A Council spokesperson said the renovations included upgrades to the existing disabled toilets and a new disabled toilet, a new first aid room and improvements to other existing amenities.
Work is due to begin early next month and should be completed by mid-March.
This means the South Burnett Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public from Monday, December 6.

Would you not do this work in the winter months, or at least plan for it.
Crikey it really is unbelievable, Simon! Can’t blame the Mayor or the Div. 5 Cr as they always do now seem to be voted down on almost any subject that arises. Wonder what is really going on?
What kind of moron makes a dumb decision to close a pool in peak times? In summer? Really? Wouldn’t you think the council, in all of their “infinite wisdom” make better decisions?
You gotta be kidding, shutting the pool over the stinking hot summer? Why not through the winter months when it’s too cold to go swimming, and 3-4 months to renovate the bathrooms?
