Sunwater has issued an alert that Paradise Dam, near Bundaberg, may spill water in coming days due to rainfall in its catchment.
The dam is currently at 30.7 per cent capacity.
A Sunwater spokesperson said work at the dam had ceased.
All machinery has been demobilised and personnel have been moved to designated safe zones.
“Sunwater is fully prepared for a spill event and is working closely with the Bundaberg and North Burnett Local Disaster Management groups,” the spokesperson said.
Sunwater will issue an update if water starts flowing over the spillway.
