Investigators from the Murgon Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged three women with child sex offences following the closure of Operation Puma on August 18.

Police will allege that between March and May of this year, the women engaged with a 14-year-old boy on multiple occasion via telephone before interacting inappropriately with him in person in Cherbourg.

A 28-year-old Cherbourg woman has been charged with three counts each of carnal knowledge with a child under 16, using a carriage service to procure persons under 16 years of age and one count of indecent treatment of children under 16.

A 21-year-old Cherbourg woman has been charged with one count each of carnal knowledge with a child under 16, using a carriage service to procure persons under 16 years of age and indecent treatment of children under 16.

A 32-year-old Cherbourg woman has been charged with one count each of carnal knowledge of children under 16 and using a carriage service to procure persons under 16 years of age.

The three women were due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
