Did you hear the one about the comedy workshop? It’s going to be heaps of fun and will be coming to Nanango in less than a month!
Nanango Theatre Company is hosting a one-day stand-up comedy workshop and performance on Saturday, September 11, at their playhouse at the corner of George and Elk streets.
The workshop is being run by Anthony Lamond who has run more than 750 of these one-day workshops.
It will cover the theory and structure of comedy with personal tutoring.
The workshop will culminate in a graduation performance in front of a live audience.
NTC president Jon Fearnley said the workshop had been made possible through the South Burnett Regional Council’s RADF grants program.
“We have good interest with about eight to 10 participants so far,” he said.
“The graduation performance in the evening is sure to be a sell-out, so book early on TryBooking.com if you want to support our local talent.
“And if you want to try something new and extend yourself, then nominate to join the team.
“Anthony will coach you through the basics of comedy performance, microphone technique and workshop your script and topics.
“You will also be given some homework beforehand so you arrive with some original material to work on.
“If this is the thing that even remotely interests you, here is the best opportunity to do it in a quiet and supportive environment.”
