The snap COVID-19 lockdown in south-east Queensland threw a spanner into the works for the South Burnett Rugby League round at Cherbourg last Saturday.

All the junior games – Under 6s through to U14s – went ahead, but the two scheduled Round 18 A Grade games were called off.

Nanango was due to take on Wondai, while Cherbourg would have faced Kingaroy.

With just three rounds left in the A Grade competition, Nanango is in the top spot on the ladder with 21 points.

The next three spots are tight: Murgon Mustangs (16), Kingaroy Red Ants (13) and Cherbourg Hornets (12).
