A brazen thief stole a woman’s car in Kingaroy on Sunday afternoon while she was unloading groceries from the vehicle.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney said the blue Nissan X-Trail was stolen from a Haly Street address at 3:00pm.
“The female owner was unloading groceries when a man approached and a physical altercation allegedly ensued,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.
The man then entered the vehicle and drove off along Haly Street.
The Nissan was later sighted in Cherbourg where another incident allegedly occurred.
“Police observed the vehicle approaching them on Fisher Street,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.
The Nissan then drove at the police vehicle, forcing the officers to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the Nissan.
They have advised residents not to approach the occupants.
