Council has been allocated funding for upgrades to the Wondai and Kumbia CBDs

The State Government has announced that $5.63 million will allocated to the South Burnett Regional Council under 2021-24 Works For Queensland funding.

A statement released by Deputy Premier Dr Steven Miles on Friday said Council planned CBD renewals in Wondai and Kumbia.

southburnett.com.au approached the SBRC seeking more information about the proposed Wondai and Kumbia projects.

However a Council spokesperson said details were yet to be confirmed and a media release would be provided in due course.

North Burnett Regional Council will receive $1.84 million to support an upgrade at the Mundubbera waste facility.

Cherbourg Council has been allocated $1.27 million.

Gympie Regional Council will receive $7.18 million which will support an estimated 119 jobs.

The funding for the four councils is part of $45.79 million allocated to six councils in the Wide Bay area for various projects.
