A baiting sign in the South Burnett … Council is distributing 1080 baits to local landholders

June 1, 2021

South Burnett Regional Council, in conjunction with Biosecurity Queensland, are conducting another round of wild dog and pig control in the region.

However, due to COVID requirements, all landholders must make an appointment before attending a baiting station.

Bait collection points will be in Wondai (June 14), Proston (June 15), Nanango (June 16), Murgon and Cloyna (June 17), Kingaroy and Kumbia (June 18) and Ironpot (June 21).

To make an appointment, phone Council’s Stock Route and Pest Control officer Kerry Hayes on (07) 4189-9100 before Friday (June 4).

Council has advised owners of domestic and working dogs to restrain or muzzle their dogs during the control program to minimise the risk of them coming into contact with poison baits.
