The South Burnett Western Performance Club is supporting Crohn’s Disease Month on Sunday (May 23) with a fundraiser for the Crohns and Colitis Foundation.
The club will be raising awareness and money at its Beginners’ Show by donating 20 per cent of show profits to the Foundation as well as 100 per cent of raffle sales.
As well, club sponsor Trail Riders Emporium has committed to donating 10 per cent of all sales of anything purple leading up to show day and any sales at their pop-up shop on the day.
A prize will also be presented to the Best Purple Dressed on the day.
The South Burnett Western Performance Club’s equestrian centre is located on Racecourse Road at Nanango.
The club is planning a big weekend.
On Saturday, there will be a Ranch Feature show with judge Lita Morrison, from Stoney Ridge Quarter Horses.
“The club is also very pleased to announce funding has been granted through the Stanwell Community Grants program for upgrades to the canteen and camping areas at the club grounds to the value of $15,750,” secretary Melanie Doheny said.
“Work will provide better facilities at the grounds for visitors and members.
“This is a great start to the club’s big capital works program that includes putting a lid on the arena as well as new horse yards, campsites and better facilities for our equestrian community.
“Thank you to Stanwell for their ongoing support. The upgrades will be starting soon!”
Other events coming up are listed on the SBWPC Events page and include a Come and Try Day on August 1, sponsored by the South Burnett Regional Council’s Healthy Communities Program.
