Visit South Burnett has hired a new Tourism Development Officer to work on promoting tourism in the South Burnett region.

Melanie Eastaugh is a South Burnett resident and has worked for both the South Burnett Times and Burnett Today newspapers.

She has also been running her own business, Boutique Marketing and Design.

“It is fantastic to have a local person take on the role and we look forward to achieving our goals,” VSB president Jason Kinsella said.

Melanie said she had been in the media industry for more than 12 years, in both print and digital.

“I’ve always had a passion for sales, marketing and tourism and have enjoyed the last 16 years working with amazing businesses in many different industries,” she said.

“I’m a mum of two amazing boys and call the beautiful South Burnett region home.

“I love cooking, reading, photography, exploring, designing and creating.

“I’m excited to be a part of this amazing journey and look forward to working together with you to help grow tourism in the South Burnett.”
