Ex-Murgon pharmacist Curtis Mickan has been charged with attempted murder in the wake of a devastating house fire in Brisbane at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Eveleigh Street in Wooloowin just after 6:00am on Sunday.

Firefighters found a highset timber home well alight when they arrived.

Two women who were allegedly in the house at the time the fire started escaped without injury.

The blaze followed an alleged domestic violence incident at the house on Saturday night.

Curtis Shea Mickan, 34, faces two counts each of attempted murder and arson, assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault and wilful damage.

The charges were mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Mickan, who did not appear, was remanded in custody.

His solicitor did not apply for bail.

The charges will next be mentioned on June 14.
