Aussie Rules fans should be happy … the South Burnett Saints’ first home games of 2021 have finally arrived!
Saints’ men, still looking for a win after two rounds, will be taking on University Cougars from 2:30pm on Saturday at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.
The Saints’ women – who started their 2021 campaign with a win – will be in action against Cougars at 12:30pm.
Sadly, Round 2 of the Darling Downs AFL competition didn’t go the Saints’ way last weekend in Toowoomba.
South Burnett Saints men were defeated 2.9-21 to 8.6-54 by the Toowoomba Tigers on Saturday.
Saints were level pegging at the end of the first quarter but the home team drew away after the change and maintained the lead until the final siren.
Brad Pressnell and Bradley Porter were the South Burnett’s two goal kickers.
The Tigers also proved too strong for the Saints’ women’s team, 11.12-78 to 0.1-1.
