The Dead Cow Gully Backyard Ultra marathon at Runnymede – which was postponed earlier this year due to the Brisbane COVID lockdown – has been rescheduled for this weekend.

Runners will take off at 7:00am on Sunday with the aim to complete 6.7km of the rugged course every hour.

The winner will be the last one standing …

The Backyard Ultra is being organised by Tim Walsh and will be held on his family’s cattle grazing property at 675 Walsh Road, Runnymede.

The course winds through undulating farmland and a gully etched with cattle tracks.

Tim has invited spectators to come out and watch the endurance athletes in action.

There will be live music, the Sushi Yum Yum truck and coffee but BYO drinks and chair.

Estimated times for finishers are:

  • Loop 1 (6.7km) – 7:00am
  • Loop 8 (53.6km) – 2:00pm
  • Loop 15 (100km) – 10:00pm
  • Loop 24 (160km) – 7:00am, Monday

However, spectators can come out at any time.
