Yarraman residents who access water from the local standpipe – and are not connected to the town water supply – will notice a small increase in charges from July 1.

Toowoomba Regional Council adopted its new Register of Fees and Charges last week.

Treated potable water at the standpipe will rise from $2.40 to $2.60 per kilolitre.

Untreated non-potable water will rise from $2.00 to $2.20 per kilolitre.

Access to the Yarraman standpipe is limited as it is located in the Council yard and requires an officer to be on site.

A Council spokesperson said there were no plans to install a touch-tag system – in use at Millmerran, Crows Nest, Oakey and Toowoomba standpipes – at Yarraman at this point.

The fee for residents connected to the Toowoomba Water Bulk Supply will be $4.20 per kilolitre.
