There’s a new venue for live music coming on stream at Maidenwell next month.
Dreambird Cottage has been offering accommodation, a cafe and functions venue in the foothills of the Bunya Mountains for some time but now owner Debbie Grace – herself a singer – is branching out into live music.
Debbie told southburnett.com.au she wanted to showcase the talent of singer-songwriters, ie. musicians who wrote and performed their own compositions rather than just singing covers.
The first of these showcase events will be held at Dreambird – at 88 Beare Road, Maidenwell – from 5:00pm on Saturday, March 6.
Guest artists will be country singer Glenn Jones (well-known for his role in the Australian Outback Spectacular), popular South Burnett-based country star Lloyd Back, Leila May and Grace.
Debbie said she hoped this would be the first of many similar events to be held at the venue.
Cost is $15 per adult and $5 for children.
Food will be available to purchase and enjoy in the al fresco dining area and drinks will be available at the licensed bar.
For more information and to book tickets, contact Debbie on (07) 4164-6285 or 0439-892-657.
NB. Beare Road was formerly known as Brooklands-Pimpimbudgee Road (South) and is still marked on Google Maps as Pimpimbudgee Road.
