Contractors will begin work next month to replace the roof on the South Burnett Energy Centre in Henry Street, Nanango.
South Burnett Regional Council has hired contractors to do the work, which is scheduled to start on Tuesday, February 9.
A Council spokesperson said solar panels on the Centre would be removed and then reinstalled.
The project is being funded by the State Government’s Works For Queensland program.
To provide a safe work environment, the Nanango Energy Centre will be closed to the public while the work takes place.
It will reopen on Sunday, February 28.

Recent high rainfall has prompted Council to approve a temporary change to its mowing program.
Extra resources will target town entries, high use parks and cemeteries to ensure they are maintained and presentable.
Mayor Brett Otto asked residents to be patient as significant rainfall across the region had meant substantial grass growth.
“Council is quite aware of the growth and we’re not only taking immediate action, but also undertaking a complete review of service standards for parks and gardens,” he said.
“Council crews are working tirelessly to address the grass growth and backlog of works, in conjunction with extra resources being engaged to help.
“Longer term, Council will be considering future changes to operations to ensure we remain flexible for high growth periods, without over committing costs.”
