A rider has been flown to hospital after he was reportedly thrown from his horse and then trampled.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed on a rural property in the Brigooda area just before 9:30am.

A critical care doctor and flight paramedic stabilised the man, aged in his 50s, at the scene.

He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with multiple injuries.
