The Murgon Meatworks has been standing empty on the edge of town since 2007

After months of rumours, it has been confirmed … a contract has been signed for the site of the former Murgon Meatworks.

The property, which is owned by Teys Australia, has been vacant since 2007.

Local councillor Kathy Duff said the sale was still subject to due diligence until May.

“But I am confident that we will see some positive activity after May that will be great for the local economy,” she said.

“Part of the plan that is being looked at is an industrial hub as there is a large piece of industrial zoned land with plenty of available water.”

More information about the proposal is yet to be revealed.
