Five local recipients have received a pre-Christmas boost thanks to Round 12 of Deb Frecklington’s Local Hero Grants scheme.
Mrs Frecklington said the applications from local groups and individuals were always high quality and she was proud to nominate the following groups as her “local heroes”:
- Kumbia Neighbourhood Watch
- Taabinga State School P&C
- James Watt (Touch Football referee)
- Yarraman Bowls Club
- Esk Christmas Tree (Brisbane Valley Apex)
“My Local Hero Grants are available for community groups from the Nanango Electorate. These are small but meaningful $250 grants that provide an opportunity to show my support, thanks and appreciation for all our hardworking volunteer groups who make such a difference for our community,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“They also encourage people who are attending sporting or other events and need assistance to make it possible,” she said.
The closing date for Round 13 is March 31, 2021.
