Police believe a medical episode led to the death of an elderly man involved in a single-vehicle crash near Cooyar on Friday evening.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the New England Highway about 5:00pm.
The man’s vehicle had left the road and hit a tree.
A police spokesperson said initial investigations suggested the 73-year-old Bundaberg man had suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
His death will not be added to Queensland’s road toll.
