Murgon police have charged two men with break-and-enter offences after a Murgon house was searched on Friday afternoon.

Police will allege they located the stolen property at the home after one of the men was seen riding a motorbike, allegedly stolen with other goods from Moffatdale a day earlier .

The motorbike, a leaf blower and a motorbike helmet have been returned to their owners.

A  30-year-old Inala man has been charged with break and enter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving unregistered and uninsured and failing to wear a helmet.

A 28-year-old Murgon man has been charged with break and enter.

Both men will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on November 24.

Murgon Neighbourhood Watch issued a reminder to local residents on Sunday.

They said residents were still not properly securing their sheds and motorbikes and mowers were being stolen around Murgon.

“Please note serial numbers, have equipment engraved and regularly check sheds to make sure they are secure,” the group said.

“We have advised the public many, many times about securing houses, garages, sheds etc. For your own protection please ensure this is done.”
