Murgon detectives have arrested and charged a 24-year-old Murgon man after a number of houses were allegedly broken into during the past week.

Police will allege the man entered a number of houses – including one with an 88-year-old resident.

The man is also alleged to have entered a shed and stolen property on two occasions.

He was located and arrested in Murgon on Tuesday.

He has been charged with two counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, three counts of attempting to enter premises with intent, and one count each of entering a dwelling with intent, stealing, trespass and drug possession (cannabis).

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 28.
