A large grass fire burning near Kilkivan has prompted a warning to motorists on the Wide Bay Highway.
At 4:00pm on Tuesday, a QFES spokesperson said multiple fire crews were at the fire, burning near the intersection of Blacksnake Road.
This grass fire broke out earlier on Tuesday afternoon.
The spokesperson said the fire was posing no threat to property.
Firefighters were working to contain the fire and crews would be patrolling the area throughout the afternoon.
Smoke haze was affecting the Wide Bay Highway and motorists were advised to slow down and drive to the conditions.

The fire is contained and poses no threat to property at this time. Fire crews are working to strengthen containment lines and crews will patrol the fire throughout the day.
Smoke may affect the Wide Bay Highway and Kilkivan-Tansey Road. Motorists are advised to slow down and drive to the conditions.
