South Burnett Regional Council is looking for more volunteers to help look after its Visitor Information Centres

August 27, 2020

South Burnett Regional Council has put a call out for people interested in volunteering at its Visitor Information Centres.

The centres are located in Blackbutt, Nanango, Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon.

“Council is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from friendly, motivated and passionate community members,” a spokesperson said.

“Volunteers contribute enormously to the success of various functions of Council.

“Without their generosity, our range of services offered in these areas would be limited and we offer our thanks for their community spirit.

“Volunteering involves the day-to-day operations of the Centre, speaking with customers and helping visitors on their holidays.

“Duties include providing residents and visitors with details of key tourist attractions within the region, local history and information on Council’s facilities and local tourist venues.”

Information about volunteering – including Expression of Interest forms, position descriptions and a volunteer brochure – are available at Council’s Customer Service Centres on Council’s website
