Kingaroy Police’s popular “Under The Bonnet” safety session for drivers attracted more than 30 people on Wednesday night.

The evening featured demonstrations on how to change a tyre, simple vehicle maintenance such as checking the oil and water, and some important tips on road and personal safety.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, had encouraged everyone – both men and women – to come along.

There were a lot of young people – new drivers or soon-to-be drivers – watching intently as the demonstrations took place.

Several of the free “Under The Bonnet”  safety events have been organised by police in Kingaroy and Murgon in recent years with assistance from local car dealers.
