A teenager is more than $400 poorer – and won’t be able to drive his car for three months – after police saw him doing a burnout last week in Kingaroy.

The 19-year-old man was spotted at 2:30pm on July 16 on Mount Wooroolin Road.

Police issued the driver with a ticket for wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke ($427 fine).

His vehicle was also immobilised for 90 days.

Property

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with break and enter after police were called to a Haly Street home at 12:40pm on July 14.

The resident, a 66-year-old woman, disturbed an unknown person in her home. A boy was located by police a short distance away.

He will appear in Kingaroy Children’s Court at a later date.

Drugs

  • An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 31 charged with possessing drug utensils after police searched an address in Gilbert Street, Kingaroy, at 8:30am on July 15. Officers allegedly located cannabis and drug utensils.  A 25-year-old Kingaroy man and a 22-year-old Kingaroy man were dealt with by way of drug diversion.
  •  A 56-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 27 charged with drug possession after police allegedly located a small amount of cannabis during a search of a home in Tuite Street, Kingaroy, at 10:30am on July 16.
  • Police allegedly located 1.2kg of cannabis and a quantity of cash during a search of an address in Haly Street, Kingaroy, on July 16. A 21-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 27 charged with possession of drugs and property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence.
  • Two people will face drug charges after police searched a home in Evelyn Street, Kingaroy, at 9:00am on July 17. They allegedly located  a small quantity of amphetamine and drug utensils. A a 35-year-old Murgon man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 3 charged with possessing drug utensils and property used in a drug offence. A 28-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear on the same day charged with drug possession.
  • A 41-year-old Kingaroy man will face several charges after police intercepted a Holden sedan in Albert Street, Kingaroy, at 1:40pm on July 17.  Police allegedly located a knife, a small quantity of cannabis and drug utensils. The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 18 charged with possessing drugs, drug utensils and a knife in a public place.
  • On Sunday (July 19), police were called to a Burnett Street address at 1:00am after receiving reports of a man trespassing. Police located a 30-year-old Thabeban man allegedly in possession of a small amount of cannabis. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 17.

Traffic

Three Holden drivers will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with driving while unlicensed after separate incidents:

  • July 13 at 9:45am – A 36-year-old Kingaroy man on the Bunya Highway.
  • July 14 at 9:10am – A 26-year-old Kingaroy man on Markwell Street.
  • July 14 at 12:25pm – A 20-year-old Kingaroy man on the Bunya Highway. An order for forfeiture of the vehicle will also be sought.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between July 13-19 including drug, property and traffic offences. They also attended four calls related to domestic violence and issued 12 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences.
