A 21-year-old Kingaroy woman allegedly found lying on the footpath after a minor traffic incident has been charged with a drug offence.

At 11:30am last Wednesday (July 8), police were called after a Holden sedan crashed into a gutter on Albert Street, Kingaroy.

They will allege they found the woman lying on the footpath, apparently under the influence of drugs.

They searched the vehicle and allegedly located a drug utensil.

The woman was transported to Kingaroy Hospital where a blood sample was taken.

She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 30 charged with possession of a drug utensil.

Investigations are continuing with police awaiting results from the blood test.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after an eight-year-old boy died in a motorbike crash on a private property at Wattle Camp on Monday evening.

The boy suffered critical injuries when his bike hit a tree.

  • An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 2o charged with driving while suspended after police pulled over his Toyota hatchback in Windsor Circle, Kingaroy, at 8:00pm on July 7. His vehicle was also immobilised for 90 days.
  • A 22-year-old Brooklands man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 7 charged with disqualified driving and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle after police pulled over a Ford ute in River Road, Kingaroy, at 9:20am on July 8. Police will also apply to have the vehicle forfeited under anti-hooning legislation.
  • A 43-year-old Nanango man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 27 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped his Holden ute in Rogers Drive, Kingaroy, at 11:50am on July 10.
  • A 36-year-old Springwood woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 31 charged with drink driving after she allegedly blew 0.063 BAC in a roadside breath test in Kingaroy Street at 2:50am on July 11.
  • A 40-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with unlicensed driving after police intercepted his Mitsubishi sedan on Tarong Drive at 7:45am on July 11. Police will allege he is a repeat offender.
  • A 56-year-old Mooloolah Valley man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 31 charged with drug-driving after he allegedly returned a positive result to a roadside drug test at 10:35am on July 12. Police pulled over his Mazda hatch on Kingaroy-Cooyar Road.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between July 6-12 including drug, offences against the person and traffic offences. They also attended six calls related to domestic violence and issued eight infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences.
