An 18-year-old man has been placed on probation for 18 months after an incident in Cherbourg last Friday during which a woman was seriously assaulted.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty in Murgon Magistrates Court this week to charges of common assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, and deprivation of liberty.
Police alleged his victim was held against her will in a house in Cherbourg and assaulted on multiple occasions over a period of two days.
She suffered injuries to her head and face.
About 7:30pm on Friday, the 18-year-old victim’s family alerted police.
The 18-year-old man was located and arrested by Cherbourg Police and transported to Murgon Watchhouse.
No conviction was recorded.
