Murgon detectives have charged an 11-year-old boy after he allegedly produced a knife during an argument in Murgon on Wednesday.

Police said a group of youths were participating in an excursion when an argument occurred.

A short while later, about 4:30pm, the youths crossed paths and continued to argue in Lamb Street, Murgon.

Police allege a 12-year-old boy presented a wooden paling and threatened the 11-year-old boy who then produced a knife and threatened the 12-year-old boy.

Witnesses intervened and police arrived shortly afterwards.

Police arrested the 11-year-old Murgon boy and transported him to Murgon Watchhouse where he was charged with going armed to cause fear.

He will appear in the Children’s Court.

Fire crews were called to Memerambi-Barkers Creek Road at Wattle Camp about 7:15am on Friday after reports a vehicle was on fire.

Firefighters extinguished the burning vehicle and a small area of grass.
