Toowoomba Regional Council says Yarraman’s community infrastructure will receive more than $835,000 in upgrades this year.

The Council will spend $415,000 to fund new change rooms and a new ramp at Yarraman’s swimming pool and $420,000 to upgrade the Yarraman landfill to a waste transfer station.

TRC will also spend funds on safety improvement and renewal works at Barry Cunning Park as part of its Play Facilities Renewal Program.

Some Yarraman residents may also be invited to take part in the Council’s Smart Water Meter Program.

This will allow them to monitor their water usage and identify leaks through new smart meter technology.

Council is testing the Smart Water Meters in an effort to refine its water management practices.

The announcements were made as part of the Council’s 2020-21 Budget, released on Monday.

Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio said the Council’s solid financial footing had allowed it to bring down a $567 million budget, which includes a $215 million capital program.
