Several toilet blocks in Kingaroy and Murgon will be closed after hours from the end of this week in a bid to reduce vandalism.
A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said the facilities to be closed at night are located in:
- Queen Elizabeth II Park, Lamb Street, Murgon
- Glendon Street, Kingaroy
- O’Neill Square, Kingaroy
From Friday (June 12), these toilet blocks will now be open from 6:00am to 8:00pm daily.
All other public amenities in the Kingaroy and Murgon areas will remain open.
The Council spokesperson said vandalism had cost Council nearly $15,000 during the past seven months.
