Two people will face charges and police are searching for a third after an incident in Nanango on Wednesday.
Senior Constable Marcus Hooper, from Nanango police, said officers spotted a suspicious vehicle at the Nanango BP service station on the D’Aguilar Highway about 11:30am.
The maroon 2008 Holden Commodore sedan – which had no registration plates – then allegedly sped off, heading towards East Nanango.
Nanango and Kingaroy police located the vehicle soon afterwards in the Mercer-Springate / Brights roads area, where they saw two men flee into bushland.
Police gave chase on foot and a 19-year-old Nanango man was taken into custody at the scene.
Police are still searching for the second man, the alleged driver of the vehicle.
He is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid-20s, of slight build with short dark hair. He is about 170cm tall and was wearing dark clothes.
Snr Const Hooper said anyone who saw the man should contact Nanango Police on (07) 4171-6333 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.
Police are also keen to speak to anyone who saw the Commodore leaving the BP service station or speeding through suburban streets.
Snr Const Hooper said police had confirmed no firearms were involved in the incident.
A 30-year-old Benarkin North woman, who was arrested near the BP garage, has been charged with drug-related offences after police allegedly found GHB and drug utensils in her bag.
She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 6 charged with possessing a dangerous drug and drug utensils, and failing to dispose of a syringe.
The 19-year-old man will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on July 16 charged with breaching bail.
The third man remains outstanding, however is known to police.
Investigations are continuing.
