Five people were assessed by paramedics after a crash in Kingaroy early on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident – on the corner of William and Haly Streets, near Memorial Park – at 5:22am.

A police spokesperson said a Suzuki hatchback heading south allegedly crossed Haly Street into William Street on the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle then struck a kerb before hitting a giveway sign and a vehicle parked in the centre parking. It then crashed into a power pole.

A QAS spokesperson said four people did not require transport.

A fifth person was taken to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are awaiting the results of blood tests from the driver, a 22-year-old Springfield woman.

No one was injured in a fire which destroyed St Leo’s Catholic Church in Haden early on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the church, near Boundary Street, at 12:10am.

Paramedics were on standby, but no patients required assistance.

The wooden church building was destroyed.

QFES is investigating the cause of the blaze.

A man was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition after a single-vehicle crash on Curtis Road, Kingaroy, on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called at 6:11pm.

A QAS spokesperson said the man’s vehicle was reported to have hit a kangaroo.
