Numbers were up at the most recent Murgon cattle sale on Tuesday, with 300 export cattle and 1000 feeders and weaners yarded.
Values remained fully firm throughout.
Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Mt Perry, Durong, Nanango, Yarraman, Kingaroy, Sexton, Kandanga and the Murgon district.
Sale results:
- Bulls topped at $3.00/kg and $2450
- Bullocks sold to $3.49/kg and $1856
- Heavy Cows over 500kg topped at $2.80/kg and $1860, averaging $2.49/kg
- Cows 400-500kg sold to $2.67/kg for a $2.40/kg average
- Cows under 400kg topped at $2.40
- Export heifers sold to $3.25/kg and $1837
- Local Santa cross steers weighing 460kg sold to $3.99/kg, returning $1837
- Red Angus steers from Redgate sold for $1649 at $3.94/kg
- 399kg Charbray steers from Byee sold for $3.99/kg and $1570
- Local Charbray steers weighing 423kg sold to $3.91/kg and $1656
- Droughtmaster cross steers from Moffatdale sold for $3.91/kg and $1616
