Murgon detectives have charged four people after raids targeting cannabis production in Wondai, Stonelands, Hivesville and Wooroonden.

During the two-day operation, dubbed “Sierra Comb”, four search warrants were executed with police allegedly seizing 84 plants, 45 seedlings and 126g of dried cannabis.

Police say the seized drugs had a potential street value of $420,000.

A 40-year-old Stonelands man and a 43-year-old Wooroonden woman have been charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs. They are due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on July 21.

A 65-year-old Wondai man has been charged with producing dangerous drugs and possessing property used in the commission of drug offences. He is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on August 4.

A 71-year-old Hivesville man has been charged with producing dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs. He is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on July 21.

Southern Regional Crime Co-ordinator, Detective Acting Superintendent Mat Kelly, said this was an excellent result with potential harm for the local communities reduced through the seizure of the cannabis.
