New travel rules being implemented in Queensland target residents returning home from interstate.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced on Thursday that Queensland residents will need a permit from midnight Friday (April 10) to come back into the State, whether by road or air.
As well, any Queenslander returning from a virus hotspot will have to quarantine for 14 days.
“So, a very strong message today – Queenslanders, let’s do the right thing, stay in Queensland and stay in your suburb,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
The Premier said the latest COVID-19 statistics were again encouraging.
“So let’s not put all of our good work at risk. You should not be travelling,” she said.
The State Government has also launched a new website to provide the latest information about restrictions and health tips.
