The Murgon Business and Development Association has reminded local businesses there are government packages designed to help businesses through the COVID-19 crisis.
“During this troubling and worrying time with the Coronavirus COVID-19 crisis, the Murgon Business & Development Association encourages you to seek out all the support you can to help you through this difficult time,” treasurer Lorraine Goodchild said, speaking on behalf of the executive committee.
“As you would know, the Federal & State Governments have brought out packages to assist businesses.
“We have added links to our website to enable you to find the information on this assistance all in the one place.
“If you find yourself concerned about your financial situation over the coming weeks, we urge you to speak with your financial institution as they should be ready and willing to help you out as the ABA has announced that there is the ability to defer loan repayments for six months.
“Also, seek advice from your accountant who will be able to help you out with the assistance packages.
“If you think your business might be suited to selling online, I recommend that you speak with Kristy Frahm from BIEDO to see if there is a way of setting that up for you.
“Another way of selling products, that I have already seen some Murgon businesses making use of, is the site “Buy from a Bush Business”.
“We have also created a new Facebook page under the name of the Murgon Business & Development Assoc Inc. where we will be adding information and tips relevant to businesses as we come across it.
“If you have any ideas or information on what may be helpful to you or others or if you have any questions, please message us through the page or email us
“The coming weeks will be a tough time for many of our businesses so please take the time to have a chat with others and support each other where you can.
“Our regular monthly meetings will be suspended for the time being but please reach out to the committee members or your fellow work colleagues, if you have any questions or just need to chat.
“Look after your mental health and make use of the resources on the Beyond Blue website if you feel yourself struggling.”
