Fire badly damaged a single-storey brick and timber house in Kingaroy in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The fire brigade was called about 4:55am to the blaze, on the corner of Prince and Thelma streets.
Paramedics were also on standby but no patients required treatment or transport to hospital.
A QFES spokesperson said the house was well alight when crews arrived.
Three fire units attended the incident.
Firefighters had contained the blaze by 5:25am and stopped the flames from reaching neighbouring properties.
It was totally extinguished by 5:45am although firefighters remained on scene until about 10:00am.
Police investigators were examining the property on Sunday to determine the cause of the fire.

Two people suffered burns after a fuel can caught on fire at a private residence at Booie on Sunday evening.
Ambulance paramedics were called to the incident at 6:22pm.
They treated a woman at the scene for burns to her arms and face. She was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.
A man was assessed for superficial burns to his hand. He elected to make his own way to hospital.

Two people were injured in a collision on the D’Aguilar Highway at Wamuran on Saturday night which blocked traffic on the highway for several hours.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at 8:46pm.
A QAS spokesperson said one person was initially trapped inside their vehicle. They were transported in a stable condition, under the care of Critical Care paramedics, to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with shoulder and lower limb injuries.
A second patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
